My last blog post created a rich social media discussion about many elements of the dance/movement therapy (DMT) culture and who we are a profession. Many people commented on the Facebook thread, commented on the blog itself, or messaged me directly. It’s evident people had a lot to say and the culture of DMT is a topic that people care about. What is also evident is that as professionals we come from vast backgrounds that shape our points of view. As dance/movement therapist, we have many roles within our professional and personal lives that are influenced by our DMT knowledge. We aren’t just dance/movement therapists, we are much more than that. Here are a few of the roles that I identify with personally and professionally.
